The NSW Government created Home Energy Saver to help households cover the upfront cost of energy-efficient upgrades — the technologies that reduce your bills and improve your home's comfort for decades to come.

Do You Qualify?

Common Questions
Yes. If you qualify for both, you can receive a discount of up to $4,000 and a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 on the same upgrade. The NSW Government recommends applying for the discount first — and we'll guide you through the right sequence when applications open.
Yes, you can use your loan or discount across multiple eligible product categories in the same application. For example, rooftop solar plus a home battery, or a heat pump water heater plus an induction cooktop. Contact us to discuss the best combination for your home.
Yes — renters are eligible for the discount (not the loan) provided your combined household income is up to $80,000 or you hold an eligible concession card. Your landlord may also apply for the zero-interest loan to upgrade the property. Talk to us about how to coordinate this.
Strata residents may be eligible for certain upgrades depending on your building's configuration and the type of upgrade. The NSW Government has provisions for apartment residents. Contact Ausgreen and we'll assess your specific situation.
Discount applications are coming soon — there is currently no closing date announced. Zero-interest loan applications through Brighte and Plenti are open now. If you'd like to apply for both, the NSW Government recommends waiting to apply for the discount first, then the loan.
